Have you ever been to a favorite things party?
I've hosted a few in the past, and I've been a guest at some, too. It's so much fun to see what items people love in their everyday lives, and it gives ideas for gifts to give, too. At my parties, I've had each of my guests bring 3 of the same favorite item, within a certain price limit (once we chose $5, and then with a different group we set the limit at $15.) Then, we drew numbers to see who would end up with what! Each person left with 3 new favorite things!
While I can't invite you all over for a favorite things party, I can share a few of my favorite things with you! This is the first in a short series where I'll share some of my favorite items for moms and kids, and favorite books and subscriptions.
In some cases but not all, I've used affiliate links to share my favorite things. You can read more about affiliate links in my policies.
Favorite Things- Under $5
Bend Soap Co Bar Soap- Looking for a sweet little gift to ease dry hands? You'll love this natural goat milk soap that nourishes hands burdened with psoriasis or eczema. You'll love supporting this company, too! It's a homeschooling family with ten kids that lives an idyllic wild and free life in Oregon...sigh.
Bend Soap Co Lip Butter- Soothe winter-dry lips with this lip butter by the same great company above.
You can use my Referral Code for $10 off at Bend Soap Co.
Daily Grace Co Bible Study Stickers- Isn't it fun to add cute little notes to your Bible or planner? I sure love it, that's why these stickers are perfect for me! I bought these for $5 during a sale, and since they have sales pretty consistently, I decided to throw them in this category. Head on over to Daily Grace Co and see if they are rightfully in the 5 and under category!
Lily and Fox Nail Wraps- These wraps, that cover your nail to look like really fun nail polish, are only $2.99 each. We've used them several times, and found we have the best results when using a top coat. They've lasted for 2 weeks!
Essence Lash Princess Mascara- This mascara isn't very expensive, but it works really well! I actually like the green one better than this waterproof version, but at the time of this post, it wasn't available to buy individually.
Favorite Things- $20 and Under
Daily Grace Co Emotions and the Heart Bible Study- Homeschooling is a highly demanding job, and there can be seasons where our emotions feel unchecked and in control. This is not a healthy place to be! This beautiful Bible study reminds us what our emotions are for and teaches how to hand them over to God.
Earthling Co Shampoo/Conditioner Bar- If using natural beauty products is a priority, these bars are perfect for you. They are long lasting and free of many of the ingredients that you probably try to avoid. I switch these with other natural shampoos, as my hair is VERY dry in Colorado's high altitude and dry climate.
Papaya Reusables- Make cleaning the kitchen more fun and enjoyable with reusable paper towels. Each towel takes the place of 18 rolls of paper towels! Use them to clean up messes or wipe down surfaces that little sticky fingers have touched, then simply wash with soap and hang it up to dry (it comes with a hook for that- I have mine on the side of my fridge).

Polish Pottery Lily Of The Valley Bowl- I bought a set of little bowls earlier this year and realized how much having pretty little bowls on hand made me smile when serving something up to guests or my family. This 4.5" inch Lily Of the Valley Bowl is pretty for the kitchen or as a catch-all in other rooms. It's currently on sale and might be more than $20 at some point.
Earth Breeze Laundry Detergent- Maybe this is a weird thing to put on your Christmas list, but this year I started subscribing to get this laundry detergent every three months. It's amazing because it's just a tiny little packet, not a huge jug that takes up space in my laundry room. I've saved money, because I spend $12 every few months instead of $10 every month, like I was before. Because it comes in dehydrated sheets, it saves water and resources that otherwise would have been used up in transportation.
One Line a Day Memory Book-This little memory book is a perfect gift for moms, because they can write a little detail about each day and look back over a five year span of time.
Favorite Things- $50 and Under
Homeschooling With Friends Calendar- This is a calendar with a purpose- to inspire you as a homeschooler! You'll find a note from 12 different creators, and the best part is that you'll find special discount codes to use, as well! This calendar is only on sale on December 16, 2022.
The Legend Planner- Crystin from Delightfully Feasting told me about this planner, and it has been an amazing choice! It's at a great price point compared to other planners I've used, and it has questions that help me focus on my goals and needs.
Yeti Tumbler- Hot coffee is a must for homeschooling moms, and a really good mug is the only way to make sure it stays hot while you're reading, say, Little Women 🙂
Frownies Facial Patches- For mamas who would love to ease wrinkles without doing anything drastic, these patches help fight gravity at night.

$50+
Clearly Filtered Water Pitcher - This year, I started realizing that the tap water I was guzzling might have a few extra surprises that I wasn't counting on. This water filtration pitcher is small enough to fit in the fridge, and light enough for children to lift up and fill throughout the day.
Sackcloth and Ashes Blanket- Not only are these blankets gorgeous and well-made, they have a purpose. For every blanket sold, one is donated to a homeless shelter. I have a gray one that seems to not be available right now, but this Colorado girl thinks the mountain series is gorgeous.

This was such a great little gift list! I just purchased gifts for all the women in our family!
I’m so glad you found it helpful, Kelly! Searching out better-than-Amazon products is a challenge, but a good one!
I am just completing my second Mom’s Line a Day book. They are an absolute treasure. I always write before I go to sleep at night. Sometimes my girls come in to see what happened that day in our history. I started buying them for new moms as well.
They are so special, aren’t they? I often give them as new mom gifts, too! Although making sure it’s close to the start of the year has been a challenge sometimes!
